Larisa Crun\u021beanu’s practice as performer, video artist and sound collector moves from reality to fiction in an endless conversation with the viewer. She studied Journalism and Photography and Dynamic Image, and in 2021 she succesfully defended her PhD thesis at the University of Art in Bucharest. Larisa Crun\u0163eanu\u2019s works create contexts in which facts and memories are reactivated, encouraging a shared effort and the emergence of new practices. Many of her projects reflect on the notion of collaboration and the ideas existing behind objects and stories. Her works were shown in important institutions such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest, Kunsthalle Osnabr\u00fcck, Biennale Matter of Art Prague, SAVVY Berlin, Zacheta Project Room Warsaw, RKI Berlin, Museu de Arte Brasieira \u2013 MAB FAAP, S\u00e3o Paulo. In 2022, Larisa Crun\u021beanu will publish the book titled Protocols of Singularity.<\/p>\n

Red Green Blue is the new Insomnia event presenting the video artworks by artist Larisa Crun\u021beanu, created during her artistic residency in Iceland this last December 2021, at ARTAK 350 residency in the framework of ARAC Art & Residency.<\/div>\n

A territory as a stand-in for another, further away territory. A time as a stand-in for another time that is yet to come, which reminds one of another, long gone time. In the darkest month of the year on the frozen Iceland, time and space lose their indexicality and start making signs, sending signifiers on loose chases with no ends. Inspired by the science-fiction trilogy Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson, the work takes the form of apparent aimless strolls on an alien territory in search for one\u2019s meaning in the face of one\u2019s imminent decommission.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
